I remember some people i knew were defending this film saying how good it was however i could not see the difference between the two films or a point for the second to exist exept to attempt to make money. It's the same premise, colonizers want to colonize. Sure the visuals were pretty, but that was it, the plot was the same.

Its not just the MCU its Disney. When we see films being marketed as "this film as ____ representation in it, go see it." they are throwing the bar super low for the film, in my opinion. It's no longer about how good a story is.

Woman don't even want to watch women's superheroes they want to watch male superheroes because they're much cooler in every way imaginable

having only women as a target audience isn't that bad, if you offer a good story like barbie it will make sense to look after that target audience. But marvel doesn't even care to make an interesting character, an interesting story or anything that will conect, on their business brains only adding a character that coincidentaly is pakistani, black or a woman is enough

"Paul Atredies is NOT a hero"...well, he's not a villian, either. Dune isn't so black and white. Paul is closer to being a Tragic Hero, certainly not the fitting the mold of the 'hero' as so often depicted in Western culture.

I have been main lining a lot of your videos and on the whole i resonate with a lot of your critiques. However for this one I soundly disagree. My impression of this film was that it was written as a table top adventure, it felt that way and that was the charm, I resonantes as a player and a DM. You could tell between a PC and an NPC, you could almost see the unexpected crit fails and successes. Perhaps my favorite part was when they jail break at Chris Pines parole hearing. They were going to release him anyway. While it comes off as sloppy writing and a cheap joke, as someone who has run a game it is exactly the kinda thing that would happen. I would have a nice scene to set the stage and give some flavor and my players would interpret it as something that needed their initiative and completely add unnecessary complications. There were many other instances where I felt I could almost see the mechanics behind the plot and character arcs which is what was the charm… for as you said it is the structure that the games provide that is the uniting factor. I know it might be feel like an excuse for bad writing, but if we got a tight story it would not feel like a gaming session, which really was the charm of the movie for me. Respectfully, Jimmy

One small nitpick with the writing on the last one, the imperial officer would have killed off Cinta instead of meekly allowing her to murder him with a small knife in a doorway if only by forcing her blade back into her body as she was trying to shank him with it. This would have introduced more conflict and character into shallow Vel so her character wouldn’t be as thin as watered down cardboard in season 2. I would also very much hope they actually make better use of Syril Karn as a nemesis for and or next season instead of as a simp for Dedra, the lady ISB agent.

Well Nia DaCosta definitely made history, making the worst performing MCU film. And I disagree, Black Panther wasn’t an “urban targeted” film. I was it twice in San Antonio, with mostly white audiences. Disney screwed up with Wakanda Forever. They should have recast T’Challa. And Black Widow should have got a better film, before Endgame and Infinity Wars. A Black Widow / Hawkeye team up would have worked. We could have finally seen what happened in Budapest. WandaVision could have led directly into House of M, introduced the X-Men and the multiverse.

I feel like they should only keep black widow and wanda ,the actors r extremely sweet and lovely amd their characters are way nore relatable,since they have experienced many hardships and ttials,they deserve to say,nothing beats cap,iron man,thor,hulk,black widow,wanda,black panther and ofc loki and such characters like these they r amazing

I don't think I can align myself with Herbert's (or Asimov's) conclusions, but his point of view is fascinating to me. Paul isn't a Hero. He is no villain either. He is indeed an anti-hero. The guy who becomes a monster or starts to go down a monstrous path because it is necessary for the good of humanity. He still serves humanity, in becoming what is necessary and that is, in his case just not the good guy. Much like Kain in the Legacy of Kain series. Both of them refuse the necessary sacrifice. For different reasons but with the same intended outcome. All to give the world the bitter taste of that terrible illusion; Hope.

What **REPEATEDLY** baffles me is that these “directors,” “actors,” and “content creators” here in the third decade of the TWENTY FIRST CENTURY **actually** seem to BELIEVE that “female empowerment” in Mary Sue characters lacking any dramatic tension or characterological struggles or flaws is a NEW, “INNOVATIVE” phenomenon in Hollywood films…..It is *stunning* that a privileged, seriously overpaid actor with little to zero contact with the workaday, 8-to-6 reality most of us inhabit can *un-ironically* think “their” (sic) mere “representative” presence in a *Marvel* film does ANYTHING AT ALL substantive toward rectifying real inequality and other social problems endemic in the real world from which Hollywood does all it can to insulate “them.”
